description: This large room is a fantastic bustle of activity at any hour of the day. Three great hearths command the entire west wall, and there is always something cooking. In the south corner, a stone staircase (staircase V) spirals cw up to G3 and ccw down to G1.

description: This long gallery spans the length of the bailey, and is lined with an arcade of lancet window alcoves that face into the bailey. The gallery accesses the rooms of the northwest and southwest compartments.

description: This is the crenellated top of the curtain wall. The crenellations are 4' in height. The thin inner wall facing the bailey is only 2' in height. The center rectangular interiors of the southwest compartments are covered with A-frame adobe clay tile roofs constructed over flat, wood sub-roofs. The southwest tower and the south gatehouse rise approximately ten feet above the curtain wall top.
