description: This area is paved with cut granite stone, and enclosed by a 5' stone wall. barbican is the keep's first line of defense. The wall offers some protection to defenders on the barbican, and the wood bridge that allows access onto the barbican can be pulled in if required.

location: South curtain wall G1.
designation: Keep entrance.
description: A pair of thick oak doors covered with iron bands and studs protect the keep entrance. The inner and outer gates each have a wicket gate. The corridor between the two gates has a murder slot in the ceiling, through which hot oil can be poured upon attackers should the outer gate be breached.
