Temple of Ankaris (the Fire Lord)

Introduction:

This temple to Ankaris consists of a single building containing one level. Three to five priests can be found here.

Area 001
designation: Entry Foyer.
description: Twin bronze doors open into this long, narrow room. The foyer is decorated with shields and statues, a dark walnut armoire and matching chairs. The smell of incense wafts from hanging censers, and tapers burn smokily in oil bowls set in the stone walls.

Area 002
designation: Priests' bedroom.
description: One or two priests occupy this chamber, each allowed a single bed and personal chest.

description: One or two priests occupy this chamber, each allowed a single bed and personal chest.

designation: Library.
description: This room contains several dark walnut bookcases filled with tomes and scrolls. Little attention is paid to the oily smoke's damaging effect upon the parchments and papyrus, and many of the documents are blackened and brittle.

Area 005
designation: Main worship chamber.
description: Bowls of burning oil smokily light this darkened room. Rows of granite benches face toward a basalt altar against the north wall, and metal shields decorate the walls. Rows of candles burn on a copper shelf flanking the altar, and the aroma of incense is especially thick.

Area 006
designation: Storage.
description: Storerooms traditionally contain the bulk of the wood found in a temple to the Fire Lord. Crates, barrels and casks are stored here, and meet an unceremonious fiery demise once emptied of their contents.

Area 007
designation: Storage.
description: One of three rooms built after the original construction, this room provides additional storage space, and contains mainly foodstuffs and dry provisions.

Area 008
designation: Dining room.
description: One of three rooms built after the original construction, this is the dining area for the temple's priests. A dark walnut table and chairs, matching armoire and china hutch fill this room.

Area 009
designation: Kitchen.
description: This cooking area is one of three rooms built after the original temple construction. The kitchen is clean and organized, and its wooden furnishings are tolerated but unappreciated.

Area 010
designation: Senior priest's bedroom.
description: This chamber contains a dark walnut four-poster bed, matching side tables and armoire. A large, locked chest contains personal belongings.

Area 011
designation: Senior priest's office.
description: This room is somewhat less smokey than the remainder of the temple. A handsome writing desk, plush chairs and a bookcase fill this room. The temple's most important volumes are kept here, entrusted to the care of the senior priest.
