Chaulatae (the Binder)

Role: Chaulatae is the lawful aspect of the five elder deities. It was Chaulatae who divided all of the planes of existence into their own separate regions. And it was she who placed all of the planets into their orbits about the sun. Chaulatae's paramount concerns are in avoiding the disruptive conflicts of chaos, and maintaining the perpetual cycle of the universe. Priests: Chaulatae's clergy must always be lawful, though they are allowed tendencies of neutrality, good, or evil. They are concerned with maintaining order and unity within their flock, and for most of these priests the means to achieve this end are of secondary import. Priests of the Binder travel the lands, bringing their teachings of order, serenity and unity to all who listen. They are intolerant of Kaichea's priests, and will not knowingly associate with them. Their belief in law and order, with unity amongst all, is the only true path. Other beliefs, while they may have merit, are misguided at best, and at the worst, outrightly deceiving. As Chaulatae is on good terms with Vendaneran, it is not uncommon for their priests to work together toward a mutual interest. Temples: Temples of Chaulatae, regardless of size, are very similar in architectural style. All are solid in construction, functional in design, and austere in appearance, with more consideration going to the mental rather than physical comforts.
