Homo sapiens sapiens

Human
If either parent is not meta-human, human looks and traits can be encouraged in a child.  This persuasion treatment is not always 100% effective, and is very difficult and expensive to perform.  Regardless of these facts however, it is still one of our most poopular treatments for parents of mixed racial makeup.

Humans are still the most common race in 2060.  In game terms, humans get no attribute modifiers or special racial abilities.  On the upside, being human costs no build points.  The maximum starting attribute rating for all attributes is 6 for humans characters.

Homo sapiens pumilionis

Dwarf
Normally shorter and stronger than humans, dwarves have many racial traits which are desired by new parents.  Skin tones range from light pink to ebony.  Thick facial and body hair is available, as well as slightly pointed ears.  Dwarven genes have a tendancy to make legs disproportionally small, but still fully functional.
    Dwarven eyesight is very popular, because it allows visibility in the infrared spectrum.  Dwarven babies have the lowest infant mortality rate because of natural genetic resistance to disease.  This resistance also carries on into adulthood.

Dwarves are short and squat with wide shoulders and short legs.  While slow due to their shorter legs, dwarves make up for this in strength and willpower.  They have lots of hair, slightly pointy ears and bulbous noses.

Halfling
    In the United Kingdom, there a subspecies of homo sapiens pumilionis dubbed halflings.  These halfings are jolly, fun loving people.  The main difference between halflings and dwarves is that they cannot grow facial hair.  Apart from this, halflings are slightly shorter than dwarves, but are much quicker on their feet.

    Hailing from the United Kingdom, this small subgroup of dwarves are also known as hobbits or hairfeet. Halflings have no facial hair, but have full, curly heads of hair, as well as large amounts of hair on their feet. Slightly shorter than dwarves, and with a dumpy, rather than stocky builds, halflings are often mistaken for chubby children. Halflings prefer to live in comfy burrows underground or in hillsides. Those halflings which have adapted to city life do not seem to mind comfortable above ground abodes however.
    Halflings are a generally docile subgroup of dwarves, delighting in fun, games and family. Halflings are clannish, and all active halfling magicians are shamans. While not afraid of modern technology, halflings enjoy simpler pleasures in life such as good food and strong ale. Most halflings avoid invasive technology such as cyberware, but simsense is very popular with halflings.
    Halflings are physiologically different from standard dwarves in various ways. They receive the following racial modifications: +1 Body, +1 Quickness, +1 Charisma, Thermograohic Vision, Resistance (+2 Body) to disease only. Halflings must maintain at least a middle lifestyle, i.e. halflings are driven to have a comfortable place to live.
