The Omega Project By Ian Brooks ianbrooks@aol.com GENERAL HISTORY The world history is pretty much as it is now except that the cold fusion experiments worked & the first trial engines have been made. America has gone almost entirely Isolationist. It has also been cutting back on its armed services. In one of the last big exercises held at white sands during the summer ended in disaster when terrorists blew up the main camp area. Over 2,000 combat men of the American Ranger division perished along with large amounts of equipment destroyed. Responsibility was claimed by the Crescent moon Jihad & Cl Gadafi of Libya. No action has yet been taken against ether of the two claimants. This has led to more attacks on American targets around the world. Stories reaching the press suggest that large amounts of equipment are being lost & people Killed. In a power stuggle in the Kremlin the Right wing sweep to power over turning all Americas predictions in the process. 1992 Onwards The right wing promptly start as they put it cleaning Russia up. The old communist party are brought up before the court system, and except in a few cases found guilty put up against the wall and shot. Estimates of casualties reaching America went up into the 100's of thousands. Organisations such as the Communist Party, The KGB and any other forces directly controlled by the communist party disappeared over night. Within a year the Right wing turned its attention on to the Russian mafia and in a series of Military operations destroyed well over 95% of the organisations capability in Russia. The remainder went to ground in a big way aided by the survivors of the Communist party machine. It took the right wing in Russia just over two and half years to clear the decks for action. It was ready for stage 3. America in a surprise move over the previous years elections threw the Republicans out of Congress & the Senate. Then reelected Bush to the White house for the first time in years the democrats had complete control over both houses & the presidency. In the Balkans the NATO PEACE FORCE was facing a series of raids by the home grown fundamentalist Muslims. Nato gives only one warning after the 5 raids on one day & the next attack on an American position leads to a counter strike in which the Moslem fundamentalist army ceases to exist as a force. America as it has said it would with draws it's forces in the middle of 1995. The only two sets of Armed forces not wound down are the Air force and the Special forces such as Delta Force, the Seals Or the Green Berets. The withdrawal from Europe is completed by the middle of 1996 and America announces that it will take no further part in Nato operations. Europe heads rapidly towards a central government & armed forces. Britain remains part of Europe but announces that it will not at present surrender control of its armed forces to European control. In October of 1996 The European Common Market anounces that it is offering membership of the common market to Poland and the Baltic States. Russia's reply to this is that since this includes membership of the European Armed forces it is a threat to Russia and the will oppose it. As the signing ceremony is completed in Berlin Russian forces cross the borders of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania & Poland. In a series of lightning raids they seize control of all government & main military bases. Europe is at War. The war continues for the rest of the century, while at first it is confined to a conventional war. The first Nuclear weapons are used as the fighting goes more & more against the mixed European forces. The first fired are airborne bombs of tactical battle field size. While this restablishes the status quo. The war continues and by the middle of 1999 it has been bought to a stand still on the East German Boarder. In America the result of sitting out the war is that while it trades across the Atlantic & Pacific with both sides in Non military equipment it's slimed downed Armed services watch this conflict from the side lines. Rebuilding of the United States industrial base continues & contact is maintained in non Military & Military equipment with Britain. America makes large advances in the fields of Artificial Intelligence. NASA due to a large investment has by 1994 started to build Americas first Space Station. The first stages of a Anti Missile Defence are built & by the middle of 1998 are in place. A full umbrella is to be in place by the year 20,001. In a historic ruling the American Supreme Court gives a ruling that the treaties forced on the Native American Indians are illegal, and that all lands held in trust for them or confiscated from them in the past 100 years are too be returned to Indian control. The resulting court cases for compensation & land rights continue in the courts for the rest of the century. Else were in the world, Australia & New Zealand are talking with the other Pacific states about setting up their own trade block. Australia in particular has been making large strides in rebuilding it's own economy with the discovery in 1996 of two large oil fields of the coast of Tasmania. The money from this is ploughed back in to the economy, primely into research It also announces that it has found crashed in the Australian desert a wedged shaped air craft. All world governments deny that it is anything to do with them & the matter passes from the notice of the general public. As the world gets ready to celebrate the passing of the millenium, one half is at war with the other half suppling both sides in the conflict. All of the following are either goverment or Morrow Project. Omega instilations are delt with seperatily. Secret Projects. DAMOCLES. This is the first military instillation built around the idea of Artificial Intelligence and is designed to control Americas Nuclear strike force in the event that human hand fails. It has a secondary task to coordinate projects Delta, Crell, & Morrow. Land One. It has the equipment to relay over 5,000 miles of rail track. Also in store here are 3 wood burning steam engines, also a large amount of rolling stock. While the base it's self is under ground the sidings are not. Hospital. This is buried under the University at Marquette. PROJECT DELTA. This is the American version of the Morrow Project designed to work along side & with the Morrow Project. It has access to Cold sleep technology PROJECT CRELL. (Canadian Regional Emergancy Land Liason This is the Canadian Government version of the Morrow project. Main Power Base is in Alberta at Edmonton Air Force Base. There are other bases spread across Canada . The Project here comes under the control of the Canadian Mounties Omagar Section. Home Base Location Minnesota. This is the base from which the OMEGA Section of the Morrow Project aim to make their take over of the Morrow Project. It is tied into both the Kentucky Power Base & into the renegade CRELL" Canadian Regional Emergency Land Liaison."
