STAR  MEN

This group is designed to be a wandering group of information
seekers with a single main base.

The group is no more than 1,000 strong of these no more than 250
will be in the field at any one time.

BASE LOCATION.

Oregon / Idaho State Boarder
Seven Devils Mountains
The Base area is powered by a Geo. Thermal Tap.
Has a Hydroponics set up capable of feeding the group for up to 9
months of the year.
Farming and hunting provide the rest of the food.
The base itself is spread out over about 2 acres.
With only the central core. being an underground bunker area.
The Tech. Lv. in the base area is still cutting edge 21st
century.

Base armaments are mostly anti intruder type.  
But anti aircraft missiles are in place.

Mostly  this group relies on the fact that no one knows the base
is there.
As to the maps of the place I leave that up to who ever uses
this.

GROUP OVER ALL

The group is made up of just about every race that you would 
have found on the North American continent 
before the war.
Skills range from the Ancient through the ages up to the modern.
Teaching takes up a large portion of the bases time
Several archaic skills were present in this group before the war
and survived the collapse.
Japanese Katana creation. 
English long bow
Several different martial arts groups

Exploration group.
This group is chosen from the young people of the base before
their 10th birthdays.
The youngster must have shown curiosity been chosen by a Cat (
more of this in a moment. )
By the age of 16 these youngsters must have shown that they can
make and maintain a BOW
Have learnt the trails around the area for a distance of 30
miles.
Also they must be of a nature that they will not start a fight.
no mater what the provocation.
The person over a period of time will become more in tune with
the cat that has chosen him.

Under the Gurps System I used when this group was designed.
They had the following disadvantages.
Pacifism (self defence )
Curiosity
Sense of Duty (Star men )
Dependant       (Cat)

They have the following advantages.
Animal Empathy
Empathy
Alertness
Absolute direction
The Cats
These creatures are the decedents of the cat population of the
original base.
Due to the effect of chemicals and radiation released during the
war the size and intelligence of these cats increased.
This and the out breeding with the mountain cat has produced a
creature that is bigger than the original.
I gave them the size of a large panther.
The cats are also Empathic.
But only with the people that they have chosen.


Basically this group can turn up almost anywhere.
It is up to each PD what he makes of this group and what they are
looking for.
IMC there was a colony ship in orbit.
That was what they wanted to gain access to.
