Scott Hann ElevenMike@aol.com The US Army's Special Forces have Adopted the TPC Corp's RAMP-V as a tactical transport. It will be used to provide SF A-Teams with unprecedented ground mobility without giving up stealth. RAMP-V Special Ops Multipurpose Vehicle Seating: 1+1 (up to six in rear) Configuration: 4x4 Weight: Empty : 997.9 kg Payload: Normal: 909 kg Emergency: 1364 kg Length: 4.37 m Width: 1.93 m Height: 1.78 m Ground Clearance: .406 m Max Speed: 136 kph The RAMP-V can carry a payload of 909 kg under normal conditions but in an emergency this can be increased to 1364 kg. When in use as a personnel carrier, the vehicle carries the driver and a passenger in the front seats and a further six combat troops in the rear, seated on cross-benches with three facing to the rear, just behind the driverand three facing forward at the rear. The main frame of the chassis consists of 4130 chromoloy steel tubing with roll-bars that can be used as weapons mountings and as crew and passenger protection. All components have been designed for continous operations over extended periods with little maintenance. The vehicle is also stated to have a low dust signature even when travelling at speed. The RAMP-V is para-droppable and may be carried by most transport aircraft or alternatively under a heilcopter. Apart from use as a personnel carrier, the RAMP-V can be used to mount various Anti-Tank, Anti-Aircraft, or other weapons and may be used for medical evacuation. A command and control post is another option.
