Thank you all for the responses! This is exactly why this thread is so good.

Cool.
Perfect. I never have a creature attack, just because. Never made sense to me either.
In mine too. The Feshenga are great ambush predators for those foolish enough to take a leisurely walk by the river bank and not pay attention to what's going on. They are lazy aren't they?
No question about this. I also have done the same over the years. "My Tekumel" has Ankhegs, Bullettes, Carrion Crawlers, and Gibbering Mouthers, to name just a few. If it feels right for Tekumel I will include it.
CoC has been an endless source of inspiration for me. Even the Pariah Gods in "My Tekumel" fear the Great Old Ones, and in the rare case when their servants manifest upon the Tekumel Plane of Reality bad things happen.
And so they should be! As should the Tasmanian Tiger, Carrier Pigeon, etc.

This is what I felt was the siuation.
I have always thought of the Lords of Humanspace like the Harkonnens from Dune, but with the volume set to 11. It is precisely for this reason that I thought that there might be descendants of other types of Terran creatures, which were not described in the Sourcebooks and other writings. I was just curious if you had encountered them with Phil.
I know in that in "My Tekumel" there are the descendants of the crocs, in out of the way places where the hunting is good. And I can tell you that they are damn big brutes! If any Terran creature could survive Tekumel's indigenous flora and fauna it would be a crocodile or shark, IMO.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward." - Rocky
