I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. This is one of the people who works for the big FLGS, and runs a lot of RPG game sessions every month. This 5e campaign i run at the FLGS once a month or once every couple of months, depending on his availability. I was originally invited to play in this campaign because of my connection and experience with the original Blackmoor, but that wasn't a good idea; he's working from the d20 version, which has a lot of Dave's original materials omitted or left out. It hasn't been a lot of fun, as I keep saying things like "The Comeback Inn is down the street to the left, across from the Dragon Tavern", and he'll look baffled as the published materials contradict what Dave said in FFC or something. Add in the 5e stuff, and the overlay of the Adventurers' League requirements - this is a retail store, remember - and it has not been heaps of fun for me to play in. The rules lawyer in the last game session was the final straw; for the kind of money I'm being asked to invest in the rules, I could pay you to drop by the house and kick me in the balls - and have more fun in the process, too.
All of which is why I was surprised that the poor GM came by and apologized the other weekend, and asked me to come back and be his co-GM - with the approval of the other players, too. I have said that I will not play; I'll run games for special events like the Free RPG Day, but that will be it I think.
Which is why the new rack in the basement is so damn important to me, I have to say. That Gentner audio interface will allow me to play with friends, no matter where they are. And the three cameras will allow them to see what I'm blathering on about, too.
