Thank you, it was meant to amuse!

It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward." - Rocky

    Thanks for the reply.
I'm not surprised that the concept was never really explored during in the Prof's campaign.
Still, I am intrigued by the idea and shall, one beautiful day, attempt to incorporate it in an adventure.

    Very clear and useful reply.
    Thanks.

I've only read the first two, as the later ones are way too expensive (it may be that, one beautiful day, the Foundation will make them available again.
    Maybe.
    Perhaps.

Of the first two, I'd go with "Flamesong" though. I just felt that it had better forward momentum than "The Man of Gold".
    Me, too!

No, not really; about the only time we saw it was amongst the Salarvyani, when we were passing through.

    You're welcome!

I doubt it; one can hope, though. I gather that there's some acrimony involved; I will say no more. The data is safe, though; I have my digital copies of all five published and the two unfinished and unpublished ones.

FS was the only one that had an editor, and yes, it's the best of the series.

Look at those arms! Look at that chest!

    Look at them!

Not to mention the rest! Even I am impressed!

    "Cohorts ready, sir!"

    Grand, simply grand.
More than once in a while I'd like to see a battle where the Roman Legionaries fight with pila, gladius and scutum that way Mars and Jupiter intended without some Hollywood hotshot adding in flaming what-nots like Gladiator or the 1960 Spartacus.

By the gods, won't the drama ever end?
The level of dysfunction is kind of impressive.

I won't ask for details, 'cause, with the way things are going in the real world, I can only take so many stories of incompetence, but the world of Tekumel has got to be the unluckiest of all fantasy properties, management-wise.
Then again, it's not really about bad luck, is it?

My number finally came up at my local library, and I got to borrow The Great Wall last night. Thank you for the suggestion! It was beautiful to watch, and that opening battle scene was grand.

Sadly, I thought it went downhill from there. I had hoped to see more spectacle, but it never really delivered again.

But I will adapt these ideas for the Wall to my Tekumel sakbe roads. Now, to drag the party out into the middle of something "interesting..."

It looked like our first entry into Khirgar with Kadarsha and his lot, didn't it?

HBO's "Rome" was pretty good for this - even the right armor for the period, too.

Yeah, that bit with the flaming rollers in the 1960 epic caused more then a few laughs, when we saw the film. Must add 'flaming what-nots' as a weapon category to my miniatures rules, too...

I'm just astounded by it all, and I've been dealign with is since the very late 1970s. The problem is that there's a very small number of people who really worked on Phil to get control of the IP so that they could be Very Important People. Regrettably for Tekumel, the sad fact is that the vast majority of them haven't got the motivation or organizational ability of a colony of cherrystone clams. Several of the Blackmoor crowd have been cultivating this level of ability as well, and as a result are getting more and more isolated from the larger gaming hobby. But they do feel Important!
