System Administrator / Desktop Analyst

We serve the province’s education, enterprise, research and government sectors.
As part of an agile team, you will work with a team of systems administrators to provide office technical support as well as help researchers and entrepreneurs to effectively use advanced cloud services.

We will ask you to:
- Work with a team but able to work independently:
- Learn, document, and share new knowledge and skills with your team;
- Debug problems, share your approach and findings with your team;
- Review repeating issues and problems, suggest fixes, and work with your team to implement improvements.
- Document servers and services, create tickets and log issues:
- Create and maintain documentation for your areas of responsibility;
- Create and maintain an inventory of equipment that you are responsible for;
- Ensure all issues and their solutions are logged.
- Perform day-to-day junior systems administration tasks:
- Debug, fix, and upgrade staff computers and office servers. This includes internal office servers, desktop application, video conferencing equipment, and third-party hosted services used by the company;
- Occasionally debug, fix, and upgrade production servers and services under the advice of the Technical Lead, Senior Systems Administrator, or Manager.
- Manage and Maintain an MDM and Software Update Solution.
- Interact with Configuration Management Systems such as Puppet.
Your professional tool-kit should be well stocked with:
- Basic programming and scripting skills.
- Familiarity with:
- macOS
- Windows (Server 2012)
- Ubuntu
- Google Apps
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Compensation and Location:
This position is based in our Calgary office. Salary will be commensurate with experience. No relocation costs will be awarded.
