Detailed Job Description:

Richfit Canada Ltd. (RFC) requires an experienced Server Administrator to assist in upgrading Windows Server 2008 virtual machines to Window Server 2016. This role is requires the skills to create and manage Windows Server 2016 virtual machines and upgrade VMware VSphere 6.0 to version 6.7. In addition to Windows Server imaging and patching, the successful candidate will be expected to install and configure key Microsoft technologies such as Exchange Server 2016, IIS web services, Active directory, Windows Certificate Services, and Windows Update Server.

This is a one year term contract position with an opportunity of extension.

Accountabilities:

The accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Immediate project needs

  • Generate a windows server infrastructure analysis to assist in the planning of the Windows Server operating system upgrade.
  • Test and certify Windows Server deployments to ensure compatibility and functionality with business applications.
  • Capable technical subject matter expert to perform the deployment and management Microsoft Windows Server 2016 in a small to medium corporate environment.
  • Capable technical subject matter expert to perform the deployment and management of VMware VSphere and ESXi 6.7.
  • Configuration and management of Microsoft Active Directory and Certificate Services.
  • Migration and conversion of Windows Server 2008 CIFS shares to Windows Server 2016.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and possess experience in creating system documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Migrate and upgrade users from Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 to 2016

Future accountabilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and support windows environment along with virtualization, hardware and software configuration.
  • Implement regular checks for the status of servers including hardware and software.
  • Planning, designing and deploying of server infrastructure.
  • Monitor server and storage environment to ensure for availability and performance.
  • Install and configure hardware and operating system software.
  • Generate compliance and audit reports similar to CSOX.
  • Work with project teams members to provide technical guidance, architectural design, and implementation of server infrastructure.
  • Lead the weekly patching of Windows server operating systems on a weekly basis. All patching occurs in the evening and patching responsibilities will be on a rotation basis between two team members.
  • Participate in on call rotation, as well as evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years of previous experience in a IT operations
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
  • Windows operating systems
  • Exchange and Exchange Online Protection
  • GPO, DHCP, DNS, and domain administration
  • Cisco UCS
  • VMware vSphere
  • Citrix
  • Commvault
  • IIS
  • ADFS and SAML
  • WSUS and SCCM
  • The following skills are considered an asset:
  • NetApp
  • Cisco network and security (ISE, AMP, NAC)
  • Apache
  • Infoblox
  • McAfee EPO
  • Skype for business administration
  • Netscaler
  • ITIL service and change management
  • Strong understanding of Cisco networking concepts
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and maintain private and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the Energy Industry an asset
