Overview
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary Office is recruiting for a Senior Analyst, IS Infrastructure to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, IS Infrastructure in the Information Services Unit (ISU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services division (CSD).
Summary of Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with the ISU Application and Business Partner teams and demonstrate the ability to provide timely responses to infrastructure-related issues as well as deliver routine daily tasks. Core functions of the IS Infrastructure team include servers, storage, network & telecom, cloud, database and data center management.
The Infrastructure team manages both Cloud and Data Center infrastructure services in a truly hybrid compute model where the team is responsible for the planning, maintenance, security, integrity and availability of all corporate data and systems. In addition to a natural enthusiasm for IS, a strong business acumen, the ability to come up with creative suggestions and customer service focus are a must for this role. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Support Pembina’s Cloud adoption strategy;
- Ensure availability and recoverability of Pembina’s IS infrastructure and cloud workloads;
- Continuous monitoring, maintenance and patching of all infrastructure components;
- Troubleshoot issues with peers and third-party vendors to resolve infrastructure problems;
- Assist the Service Desk team with level 2 escalations;
- Enable business efficiency through the adoption of cloud technology solutions;
- Implement and support IS infrastructure initiatives, including process and efficiency improvements;
- Provide timely updates project status including issues, deliverables and timelines;
- Identify the top cloud architecture solutions to meet the strategic needs of company;
- Ability to liaise with numerous departments, members and functional roles; and
- Ability to be on call (rotation schedule).
- Completion of an Information Systems Degree or Diploma (combination of relevant education and experience will be considered);
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience as a Server Administrator/Analyst working with server, storage, network and core infrastructure security (on-premise or cloud);
- Strong communication and documentation skills;
- Strong technical skills and hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Administration of Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory;
- High proficiency in the use of PowerShell for managing IT infrastructure;
- Administration of Microsoft Office365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online);
- Managing Data Center and IaaS workloads; and
- Experience deploying and managing Azure PaaS offerings including Kubernetes and Databricks is an asset.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Administration of Microsoft Windows Server 2012-2019 environments;
- Virtualization technologies (VMWare);
- Networking in Cloud, LAN, WAN, WI-FI and Data Centers;
- Data Storage and backup in both cloud and datacenter environments; and
- Implementing Data Center and Cloud Security best practice approaches.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Designing, migrating, executing and supporting IT cloud solutions in Azure (preferred) or AWS; and
- Administration of Linux environments (SUSE, RedHat) is an asset.
