As a Cloud Specialist, you will be hands-on helping customers deploy cloud-native platforms and tools to support their DevOps practices. This role requires you to develop automation expertise with configuration management tools and Infrastructure-as-Code. A core requirement is to build and maintain relationships with these customers providing technical input to architects, developers, and operators. The position requires an interest in multiple disciplines and strong interpersonal skills.
This is a full-time position open to candidates in Eastern Canada. We are currently operating in a remote-first approach.
In this role you will:
- Contribute to the deployment and adoption of DevOps Platforms and DevOps practices at CloudOps and with CloudOps’ customers.
- Develop subject-matter expertise as it relates to the Azure, Google, and/or AWS cloud platform and DevOps marketplace.
- Implement and guide around Cloud services in our ecosystem.
- Contribute to best practices for alerting, monitoring and alarming of Cloud hosted services.
- Create automation using Terraform, Ansible and other tools while contributing to materials for all aspects of Cloud-Native, Kubernetes and container ecosystem projects.
- Help customers build out their CI/CD pipeline.
- Deliver workshops and labs about container orchestration, Cloud-Native technologies and DevOps practices encompassing container orchestration, monitoring, security and tracing.
- Create and curate workshop and lab material, keeping it relevant and up-to-date.
- Participate in community and market activities including participation in trade shows.
What we're looking for:
- Experience with Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet or SaltStack.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormations and ARM Templates.
- Software development and scripting experience using Python and/or Golang.
- Interest in containerization technologies such as Docker, Containerd, etc.
- Interest in Kubernetes and the surrounding CNCF landscape.
- Exposure to cloud deployment automation and configuration management for GCP, AWS, Azure or OpenStack.
- Knowledge with, and high interest in, continuous integration via tools like GitlabCI and Spinnaker.
- Networking experience is an asset.
- Ability to learn fast and be curious about new technologies emerging in the Cloud-Native space.

What to expect once you apply:
- You will be invited to join a 30-minute intro call with our recruitment team, and we will walk you through the team's mission, the role, the interview process and requirements.
- We'll ask you to demonstrate your technical capabilities and will invite you to complete a couple of technical quizzes.
- You will be invited to join a 30-minute call with the hiring manager to deep dive into the role, team and projects, and they will answer any of your questions.
- The final interview is a 1-hour technical discussion with members of your future team.
